I had a soapstone mortar and pestle and was looking for one that wouldn’t leave dust in my herbs, and this one fits the bill! This set is very sturdy and well made. I’ve run it through the dishwasher a couple of times with no ill effects and it still looks just as nice as when I first got it. For the price, it can not be beat.
My dog has incontinence (TMI?) due to her Cushing’s disease, but refuses to take her pills like a good doggy should. This mortar & pestle was just the solution. We grind up her meds in this and add them to some food. Because we can get the pills nicely powdered we only need a small amount of food to mix it with, which keeps her nice & trim.
So far, I’ve had no problems with this crucible. Nothing has stained it or been hard to remove from it.
