Product Description

Helen’s Asian Kitchen Bamboo Mortar and Pestle Set is perfect for grinding items into a fine paste or powder. The deeper-capacity mortar works well with the pestle to grind and break down ingredients quickly, including cloves of garlic, herbs and spices, peppercorns, cinnamon, nuts, sesame seeds and roots, like ginger root and turmeric. It helpful for speeding up food preparation with little effort. Quickly grind fresh ingredients to make aromatic dry rubs, curry pastes, pestos, nut butters, spreads, and more. Use as a pill crusher to pulverize hard-to-swallow pills! Essential tools for practicing homeopathy, the art of healing through natural remedies, this Mortar and Pestle Set offers effortless preparation of herbal and homeopathic remedies. Simply place item into the mortar bowl. Hold the pestle by the handle and, using a firm pressure, make a circular stirring-like motion to grind the item. Harder items, like peppercorns, may need a firm but gentle tap with the pestle to crack the surface before being ground. Helen Chen’s Pestle and mortar are crafted from 100-percent natural bamboo to be lightweight, strong, and less absorbent than wood. Although bamboo is technically a grass, its tensile strength is comparable to that of steel, making it extremely strong and durable. It regenerates through a vast root system without need of replanting and boasts a renviromentalrd-breaking growth rate that surpasses any other known plant. For these reasons, bamboo is considered among the world’s greatest renewable resources and the alternative used over traditional materials for the sustainable design of enviromental-friendly products, making these biodegradable forks perfect for those concerned about more sustainable living. Rinse in warm water immediately after each use. Shake off any excess water. Do not use soap as bamboo will absorb aromas and flavors. Dry thoroughly before storing. First time buying a kitchen motar. It cracked the first time I used it. It cracked from a garlic clove. Do not buy this. Spend the couple extra dollars and get a marble one instead. Cheap a $$ product.

Easy to use and easy to clean. I found that if you layer some plastic wrap over the teeth you can grate your ginger and pull it right off the plastic without having to clean up the grater afterwards.

I used a simple bamboo ginger grater for years, but the teeth started breaking off regularly. When trying to find a replacement, I couldn't find the bamboo type anywhere. I searched on Amazon and came across this grater.

In concept, you simply grate the ginger over the teeth and use the brush to collect the gratings. Any juices are captured in the well too. This seems simple enough in concept, so I decided to give it a try.

I put this grater to the test the evening it arrived in the mail. I prepared my ginger and began grating. The teeth do a great job on the ginger, and the juice collected in the well. Then I use the brush to collect the ginger gratings. It seems the bamboo brush is this products main weakness, as it doesn't work. When the ginger stuck to my old grater, I would give it a few taps on the cutting board and be done with it. This grater being porcelain, I tried doing the same lightly but feared it will break. I collected what ginger I could, and washed out the rest.

This product does an excellent job of grating ginger, and is easy to clean up. However the included bamboo brush is useless. Without being able to reasonably collect the grated ginger, this product doesn't make the cut. I have since replaced it with a ginger grater from Williams Sonoma.

    PROS:
    Grates ginger with ease
Includes a well to capture juices
    Easy to clean

    CONS:
Ginger gets stuck in the teeth

I havd a Kyocera and am very pleased with it. I needed to buy another grater as a gift. I thought this one was a better deal. Big mistake! The teeth are too high and trap most of the grated ginger inside. The bamboo brush that comes with it is absolutely useless. Don't waste your money on this. Spend a little more and buy a Kyocera instead.

Much better than my previous one. HINT: put plastic wrap over it when grating. Then you can pull off wrap and scrap ginger easily.

    Ben fatto.
    Dimensioni contenute ma piuttosto capiente.
Spedizione veloce, considerando la provenienza dagli USA.

As soon as I saw this I had to have it! I have numerous Mortar and Pestle sets, and I am very pleased with this one. It performs well, and I love the tall rather than fat size. I find I have less spills. However, if you want a heavy duty mortar and pestle, you are best to go with a harder material, such as marble or granite. This one doesn't crush dried garlic as well as those ones. Overall, does a good job and beautiful.
