    I replaced a 10 year old broken pepper mill with this OXO Pepper Grinder. I researched for several weeks before I finally decided on this one. For the price and quality, this one stood out. I was worried because I didn't think it would be big enough for our pepper loving family. I thought I'd have to refill it every week, but not the case. My family has been using this for the past 3 weeks and have only used 1/4 of the peppercorns. I use the pepper grinder to cook with daily and at the table for a family of 4, so it gets heavy usage. I like how the pepper comes out of the top, so my counter doesn't get pepper all over it. I really like how easy it is to adjust pepper size. Sometimes I like a course grind and other times a fine grind, it depends on the food. The grip is wonderful especially while cooking and much easier to turn than my old pepper mill, especially important as I am aging with arthritis. Another thing I like is being able to see exactly how much remains. Nothing is worse than preparing a meal, and you run out. Who wants to stop what they are doing right at that moment. I have unscrewed the bottom where the peppercorns go in and it will be very easy and quick to fill back up. I have started buying OXO brand of kitchen utensils and I haven't been disappointed at all. The company makes great products! So far, I am very happy with this pepper grinder!

    I bought this grinder in 2016. It sits on the kitchen counter and is used every day. It does show a bit of wear but works perfectly well.

    I considered buying a new grinder and decided on the same model even though it is more expensive than grinders that look similar.

    In the end, I thought .... Why??? There's really nothing wrong with mine. It's 8 years old now, I think I'll wait on the 10 year mark.

    THIS IS A REALLY GOOD PEPPER GRINDER !!!!

    Like all the Oxo products, this grinder works extremely well and does what it is supposed to do superlatively. I have had various Oxo products over the years and they never disappoint. For this particular item, the only downside I see is that the reservoir could be a little bigger, but when looking at performance, this is nowhere near a deal breaker. Handsome, durable, functional. Worth every penny!

    I'm a 60 yr old woman who is fairly fit but I have a bit of muscle weakness in my arms, and I mistakenly thought this was an electric version, which it is not, so my bad there. Although it's easy to operate and easy to adjust the grind by simply sliding the lever, I really wanted something to grind half a bag at a time and this is more for 1 tsp at a time or a sprinkle over your plate of food. I bought a bag of Himalayan Pink salt which has not yet arrived, however, the salt shaker comes filled with salt grains about the size of a peppercorn that I was able to practice on.

    It takes about 30 turns to get a tsp of salt at the middle tab position. It produces a more powdery version of Morton's, although minimal and barely noticeable unless you are picky like me. :-)

    At present, I am writing my grain mill company to see if I can grind salt in it, because I can already grind peppercorns with it. This OXO salt grinder does a decent job, if you are just wanting a sprinkle over your food but for measuring out salt for a recipe, it's not practical in my opinion to grind and then measure, unless you can grind a lot at at time and store in a container, which I am not up for. I did read many reviews/opinions before purchasing and most said this was the winner over many others, so that's why I chose this one. Update: I finally received my Spice Lab's coarse grind Pink Himalayan salt and the Oxo Salt Grinders works really well with it.

    Also the grinder is much smaller than I expected it to be. It's 5 3/4 inches tall whereas the description says 7.8 inches but I like the size of it. I would definitely recommend it for smaller salt seasoning use.

    These are great. I've gotten two grinders, washed them out, and use them for cumin and fennel. I'm now getting more for coriander and decorticated cardamom.

    Complaints about the inaccuracy of the grind-size selector should be taken with a grain of salt. It's a simple, sturdy mechanism—you're adjusting the gap between the burrs, as you can see on the top of the mill, and it works exactly as you would expect.

    These are a pleasure to hold and use, the inverted style does prevent a lot of spice dust cleanup, they're easy to refill and pleasantly compact (though taller than a standard 3.5- or 4-inch-high spice bottle), and they look attractively clean, well-made, and unfussy. When OXO gets a design right, it can make a humdrum everyday activity a pleasure, and I do look forward to using these.

    This pepper grinder is easy to use. Set the grind size, turn upside down and grind your pepper. Size of the ground pepper is consistent and there's no mess left on the table or cupboard shelf. Grinders with the screw on top have always needed constant snugging up to get a fine grind; this one has a setting for that and stays there. We like it. We've had it about a month so I can't comment on durability yet.
