Three different hole sizes allow the shaker to be used for powdered sugar, cocoa, flour and spices. Simply turn the stainless steel lid dial to choose from three different hole sizes or solid cover. Hole sizes are as follows; 1/16"-1.5mm, 1/8"-3mm and 1/4"-6mm.

These are really nice! Glass is solid and heavy...the stainless steel lid is well made with the turning mechanism tight but still easy to twist... I ordered one to see what it was like and knew immediately I would be ordering some more...cinnamon sugar is in one...haven't decided what I will put in the other 3...😊

    Look no further for salt and pepper shakers! The jars are large. The lids are multiple different size holes. My husband likes a little egg with his pepper and he doesn't have to shake forever to get enough pepper. He turns the lid to the medium or large holes a lot comes out quickly. There isn't any plastic to the shaker either. I love the fact that the lids close; it definitely helps to keep moisture out of the salt. The containers are actually nice looking for the table as well. Everyone that has been to our house and used these containers have said they are amazing. These shakers could have a lot of uses besides just salt and pepper; would be great as spice containers, cinnamon and sugar, sweetener, dusting of cakes, etc, use your imagination. Would definitely recommend these containers. Stop looking and buy these, you won't be disappointed.

    I like the glass jar and the top that has small, medium and large holes. My only issue and it is very minor is that the lid when closed still lets the holes "peak out" a bit. If it closed more tightly, the rubs with brown sugar in it would stay fresher longer. If you that doesn't matter to you, this is ideal.

    I love that this has adjustable shaker holes. I keep it mostly on the fine setting and use it to shake out my homemade body powders, made with bentonite clay, cornstarch, tapioca starch, and essential oils like benzoin, lavender and sandalwood, or sometimes lavender, tea tree and rose.

    It's perfect if you want a shaker that closes pretty well, to keep the product within fairly well protected from the impact of ambient moisture. I haven't tested this thoroughly yet, so I'll try to update this after next summer. I live in a house without central air, so clumping of powders left exposed to too much moisture is just about inevitable.

    Feels very solid and has a charming vintage appearance - would look great in a kitchen or dining room, or even on a nightstand or vanity.

    Not sure how washing and drying the lid would go - seems like it might be hard to keep it from rusting.

It's perfect for any spice/seasoning that you use in large quantities and/or that is larger in size and gets stuck in the holes of a standard spice jar. I like that you can adjust the size of the holes but I only use the largest option, and then close it for freshness. The jars are very sturdy and well made.
