Customers say

Customers find the salt and pepper grinders work great, are easy to manipulate in hand, and consider them good value for money. They appreciate the light feature and find them simple to use. However, the durability is concerning as multiple customers report units falling apart after less than 2 months. Moreover, the design receives mixed feedback, with some finding them cool while others consider them of poor quality. The grind accuracy and salt quality also get mixed reviews - while some say they grind perfectly and work well with standard sea salt, others report issues with pepper grinding and salt getting stuck.

Literally fell apart.

Literally fell apart.
It fell apart after less than 2 months of limited use. I was browning 2 pounds of ground turkey for some 2 alarm chili when the darn thing just broke in half spilling peppercorns and the bottom half of the thing into the skillet ruining the chili. It was impossible to remove all the peppercorns. Don't buy this product it only worked well for the first month or so before it started not grinding peppercorns very well and had to be adjusted to work then it literally fell apart.

I can't speak for its longevity because I've only been using it for a couple of months, but so far I couldn't be more pleased. It does a fine grind just the way I like, and has a couple little features that you wouldn't think you'd want, until you use it - there's a tiny light right next to where the pepper comes out, so you can really see exactly how much you're using, and it includes a cap for the bottom so that it doesn't leave any residue on the table when you set it down. A great value, and I like having 2 so I know I've got another whenever this one dies (or of course I could use it for salt, but I use so little salt that I'll probably just keep it on standby, or for trying different types of pepper).

I am so happy with these. I love that they are electric and I don't have to constantly be twisting them. The adjustment on the bottom works better than any others I've owned. You can really get a super fine grind if that's what you want., and the light is a really cool feature. They are really pretty, too, so I can leave them sitting out on the counter, instead of hiding them in the cupboard. I will definitely be purchasing more of these to give as gifts. Thank you!

UPDATE: They worked well for about a month, but then the one I had Himalayan salt in stopped grinding. That was bad enough, but I was really upset when the pepper one stopped grinding about 3 days later. Unfortunately, their return policy would not allow me to return or exchange them. I'm glad I hadn't gotten around to buying them for gifts as I had planned.

My husband got me two (one for salt, one for pepper), to replace my fancy salt and pepper mills, since I was having pain in my wrists. These are great. They are easy to put together and refill, they have a light at the bottom, and they are pretty fast. My only complaint is that they are loud.

These units look very nice. They are of a good quality. However, the battery runs down quickly and keeping the covers over the bottoms is another little hassle to deal with. The idea is great, but they are going into the city wide garage sale this weekend! We will try another set of grinders that are not so top heavy. The price was great and now we know why!

It works as a salt & pepper mill. The grind is adjustable so you can have a finer, or larger granules.

I have two complaints really, one is that each one uses 4 AA batteries, and the batteries do not seem to last long. We use Eneloop / Amazon Basic rechargeable batteries. My LaCrosse charger reads 2400-2500 mAh so I know they are fully charged.

The second complaint that I have is that due to the design of the salt/pepper container, it is a bit difficult to re-load the grinders. The pepper balls barely fit through the space provided.

Overall, I'm going to keep using it, at 2 for $20, it was a fantastic deal.

I really like this set!! I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis in my hands and have a hard time with turning my regular pepper mill. So when I saw that my sister had one of these, I went on line and bought this set. I use the other one for Himalayan salt. I don't know how I did without them before! I am sure, I never added enough pepper, because it hurt so much. Now I can hold the button as long as I need and it'll grind it for me.
When my golden tumeric paste, that I make to relieve my pain, called for 1 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, I use to not look forward to grinding that much!! But now, all I do is push that button! Even if you are not having trouble with pain, who wants to grind and grind like that!

Would love to say that I love these grinders, because I actually like the grinder feature. One of the grinders arrived however with a bulb that won't function. The light was one of the features that made me purchase this item. I have been in contact with Teika, through Amazon, and they are not helpful. I have asked for instructions to replace the bulb and have gotten no information. First they offered to give me a $2 refund. I asked for a replacement grinder and to return the one that wasn't working. Then they offered me a $5 refund. I asked again to be able to return the grinder and get a new one. My final communication was that they would give me a $12 refund. All I really want is for them to send me a grinder with a light that works, and I will send the non working one back. I'm about ready to return them both and ask for a full refund and purchase some from another manufacturer. Too bad, because I did like how the grinders work. Customer service leaves much to be desired.

We have been using manual grinders for quite some time. We love the taste, but it takes a lot to get enough ground for cooking purposes. These were offered at a great price so we decided to give them a shot. The storage area is small so you have to fill them often depending on your usage, but the mills allow you to select a coarse or fine ground which is wonderful. They aren't too loud and the push button is easy to depress even for children.

The only drawback is the black caps at the bottom of the mill. The fall off easy and don't sit back in the mill very well. I would suggest putting them on a flat surface and just getting rid of the black discs, but you may loose some freshness of the ingredients that way.

We use one for black peppercorn and one for smoked salt for a nice balance.
