Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Customers find the garlic press works well and is good value for money. However, the build quality receives mixed feedback, with some saying it's solidly built while others report it breaking after one or two uses. The pressability and cleaning features also get mixed reviews - while some say it does a good job, others find it doesn't work well, and while the self-cleaning aspect is decent, many say it's super hard to clean. Moreover, the fit is problematic as it can only accommodate two large cloves at a time, and customers report issues with missing cleaning teeth and plastic parts breaking.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2010Let's be real about this: there's really not much to a garlic press. I almost feel like it's on par with rating toothpicks. However, my last 3 garlic presses were garbage. The most recent was hard to clean and flimsy and had a part that tended to get lost. 2nd most recent let too much garlic ooze around the press (there was about 1/16" gap all around). And the one before, the pin holding it together just wanted to drop out right from the start.
This press, however, is top-notch. There is no lateral give in the press motion. There is a good tight fit between the press and the frame. And to my great satisfaction, when you reverse it to clean the holes, you can reach in and feel the pins come out the other side by roughly 1/32". It all feels sturdy, and all for what I thought was a reasonable price.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020This is a simple press however the two handles do not seat well due to too much" play" because the bar that connects them to each other is too small/narrow to allow it to seat neatly. It will press garlic but the user needs to make sure the handles are aligned so that they will fit. My item also had a loose plastic "comb" (to remove garlic remaining in the press after use). The product looks good but functions poorly. Very disappointing. YMMV
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2013I bought this garlic press over other presses because the price made it irresistible.
It is built solidly and the weight feels great in your hand. It does exactly what I bought it for, press garlic for quick and easy fresh garlic taste. The only downside is that unlike higher priced presses some of the garlic comes out the wrong side of the press, but the amount is minimal.
Cleanup is easy because there are no small seams.
Would buy again.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2025This arrived broken. Cleaning nubs are broken off so it will not clean the press. Very disappointed. Poor quality control. The rest of the press looks good, but is unusable now.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2014I avoided using my old garlic press because it was such a pain to clean. The self-cleaning feature of this press makes it so much better. There's still a little effort involved in hand cleaning it, but nothing like the old one. The Winco press is very sturdy and well built and can easily crush two or three cloves.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2019I like everything about this garlic Crusher and easy cleaning!!!
I used to have one like that many years ago and it disappeared I've been looking for this particular item for the last five to ten years and I'm glad I finally found it.
It's the only garlic press for me. Tried many others and all broke or wouldn't do the job.
I'm also very happy how quickly it was delivered and delivered as promised!!!
I highly recommend is garlic press inventor that sold it to me!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2012Since this garlic press got fairly good reviews, I was hopeful. The product arrived and was a disappointment. First it wouldn't close. Then after I broke one of the bent plastic teeth that was preventing it from closing, it closed just barely. I've got an older metal self-cleaning garlic press and the only problem is the teeth don't stick out quite far enough. When this press is closed, the teeth do stick out a little further so it should work, but it is cheaply made and it was already non-functioning when it arrived. I thought about sending it back, but the initial cost was hardly worth the effort of repacking and sending back - something I suspect the manufacturer and reseller may count on. In short, the design was okay, but the execution - cheap metal and plastic, is poor.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2023This product looks like it should be $8 not almost $20. For how expensive it is, I expected better design. The attachment is wide and allows for a lot of wiggle room. I expected something more precise. It works alright. My mom has had the same one a couple years and it is missing 4 teeth.

1.0 out of 5 stars Replacement parts?
Works very well for couple ok week. The metal parts are still is perfect shape for regular usage. The main issue is the plastic dents broke easily. No replacement parts, no feedback nor answers from company. Therefore the tool is quickly of no use as soon as dents are broking, it’s a pain to wash and clean.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh, it works, but doesnt look or feel nice.
You get what you pay for. There is a reason this is the cheapest garlic press with the self cleaning bit on here.
The construction is really shoddy, a couple bristles of the cleaning bit were broken on arrival. The rivet joint is already rusted (before even being used once) and the whole thing feels like its going to fall apart. also the part where the garlic comes out is recessed instead of being flush with the front so that when you take a knife to it in order to get the garlic off, you miss some.
At the end of the day, it gets the job done, but I don't know how long it will last.

Love this press. Simple streamlined design with few moving parts. Easy cleaning

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks terrible after going thru the dishwasher. Rusty and the finish came off completely.
This is a good garlic press for functionality, however when I put it in the dishwasher, the shiny finish wore off completely and the screw is rusting. It looks horrible.
