  1. I bought it specifically for grinding whole flax seed. It grinds it to perfection in seconds. Although I use it for other nuts too, which I am extremely happy with it all. It is a snap to use, and is super super easy to clean, takes up little space on the countertop. Note that not wanting the lid to become foggy (as some plastics do in high heat) I no longer use the drying/heat function on my dishwasher, so after going thru the cycle it comes out like new everytime. If you are the kind of person who likes to have the cords tucked into the appliance then you may be a little disappointed as the cord takes a little fiddling to get it coiled back into the housing unit. In my personal opinion I think this product is superb, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

  2. This spice grinder is exactly what I was looking for. It ground all my spices, even cinnamon and nutmeg, to a fine texture. I have a Cuisinart coffee grinder which I tried to grind spices, but it didn’t grind spices as fine as I wanted. The lid did not “cloud” over like it does with some grinders when you grind some hard stuff in it (cinnamon, nutmeg).

  3. I grind spices regularly, especially dried chili’s, and found this product well-designed for that task. Easy to use, and easy to clean…

  4. My Krups GX4100 kicked the bucket after less than one year of moderate to heavy use and I decided it was easier to repurchase than to bother with the warranty. I got this Cuisinart to replace it. The difference is immense. Not unlike the Krups, the Cuisinart is very handsome and worthy of display in a contemporary kitchen. Where it excels though is function. In seconds it grinds whole spices to a fine powder. What would take 2 minutes in the Krups takes less than 30 seconds in this baby. With the Krups there would be a few pieces that didn’t get ground, but with the Cuisinart there is nothing but powder. It even ground whole turmeric without breaking a sweat (if you’ve ever worked with whole turmeric you will know that short of perhaps solid granite this has to be the ultimate test of a spice grinder’s worthiness). Add to that the detachable basin for easy clean-up, the cool factor of the on/off mechanism (lightly press down the lid for on and release for off), and the spice oil protection (the clear cover does not contact the spices directly so no clove/allspice/cinnamon stains) and you’ve got yourself a perfect and flawless spice grinder.

  5. I am extremely pleased with the nut and seed grinder. I purchased the cuisinart coffee grinder a little under 2 years ago for grinding flax, pumpkin, sunflower and seseme seeds and the inner cup blade broke, the nut and seed grinder is much faster and quieter. Very, very, very happy with this purchase.

  6. I got it specifically for grinding entire flax seed. It grinds it to perfection in secs. Although I use it for various other nuts too, which I am extremely satisfied with it all. It is a breeze to utilize, and is extremely super simple to clean, takes up little area on the counter top. Keep in mind that not wanting the cover to end up being foggy (as some plastics finish high heat) I no longer use the drying/heat function on my dishwashing machine, so after going thru the cycle it appears fresh everytime. If you are the kind of person that likes to have the wires tucked into the device after that you may be a little disappointed as the wire takes a little fiddling to get it coiled back into the real estate unit. In my personal point of view I assume this item is superb, and I would not be reluctant to suggest it.

  7. This flavor mill is specifically what I was seeking. It ground all my spices, also cinnamon and nutmeg, to a high quality texture. I have a Cuisinart coffee mill which I tried to grind flavors, however it didn’t grind flavors as high quality as I wanted. The cover did not “shadow” over like it finishes with some mills when you grind some hard stuff in it (cinnamon, nutmeg).

  8. I grind spices consistently, particularly dried out chili’s, and found this equipment well-designed for that activity. Easy to make use of, and easy to cleanse …

  9. My Krups GX4100 passed on after less than one year of modest to heavy usage and I decided it was much easier to repurchase than to worry about with the guarantee. I obtained this Cuisinart to replace it. The distinction is astounding. Not unlike the Krups, the Cuisinart is extremely good-looking and worthy of show in a modern kitchen. Where it stands out however is feature. In secs it grinds entire flavors to a fine powder. Exactly what would take 2 minutes in the Krups takes much less compared to 30 secs in this baby. With the Krups there would be a couple of pieces that didn’t acquire ground, but with the Cuisinart there is just powder. It even ground entire turmeric extract without cracking a perspiration (if you have actually ever dealt with whole turmeric extract you will know that except probably strong granite this has to be the utmost test of a flavor mill’s value). Include in that the removable basin for easy clean-up, the great aspect of the on/off mechanism (lightly weigh down the cover for on and launch for off), and the flavor oil defense (the clear cover does not get in touch with the spices straight so no clove/allspice/cinnamon spots) and you have actually acquired yourself an excellent and exquisite spice mill.

  10. I am remarkably pleased with the nut and seed grinder. I purchased the cuisinart coffee grinder a little under 2 years ago for grinding flax, pumpkin, sunflower and seseme seeds and the inner cup cutter damaged, the nut and seed grinder is much faster and quieter. Very, extremely, extremely delighted with this investment.

  11. This is an excellent little machine. It’s an action up for me from a coffee grinder I had actually been utilizing to grind my flax, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and so on. It peaceful sufficient, solid sufficient for the almonds, and does the flax well. I tried grinding licorice slivers I obtain from chinatown to make tea however they kept repressing the blades. I utilize it everyday for spell 2 months now. Has a great little dish publication also.

  12. I obtained this the other day to grind the herbs and flavors I have actually been drying out from my garden. From landing of bundle until I obtained it washed and began using it was a few mins. Within a couple of days, I have actually utilized it to turn my produce of sage, oregano, and red chili peppers into jarred spices and natural herbs. Every little thing appeared quite steady. It was straightforward to make use of and easy to cleanse in between active ingredients. I found it was basic to cleanse under running water and turning the metal glass jar upside-down while washing with the cooking area tap sprayer. The base can not be immersed, but it doesn’t get dirty, so a fast clean with a cloth is plenty. Having actually utilized it many times currently, I have actually located it functions better when you fill it at least a quarter full and rhythm it, instead of holding it in the “on” position. Additionally, it works much better with DRY ingredients than moist or moist ingredients. I ground pine puts with parmesan cheese for pesto sauce and it did fine, yet when I attempted the components separately, it did carry out much better because it didn’t get gluey. The cord is rather short, so you need to utilize it near a site. This wasn’t any difficulty for me, however I think some folks may not like that part. Very good product for the money. Amazon price was the most affordable I located, and I broke out shipping with Amazon Excellent, so this was a bargain.

  13. I like it for seeds and nuts. It’s excellent for Flax seeds. unlike a coffee grain grinder, the mug is removable and has a plastic cover, so you could keep leftovers in the fridge, covered. Perfect dimension. excellent addition to my kitchen.

  14. This grinder is outstanding! Fairly peaceful operation. The wire shops inside the machine so you just see the plug end when not being used. So far, I have utilized it for grinding flax and various other seeds, yet I make sure it will do well for nuts also.

  15. I have had my Cuisinart Spice-and-Nut Mill for three years. I use it usually enough. It functions well for grinding whole cloves for cooking recipes, for grinding whole coffee grains for my weekly pot, and for slicing almonds or pecans for my granola dish. I have additionally utilized it for grinding whole flax seed and sunflower seeds. I have not had any kind of problems with the motor or the cutters. Be sure not to overfill. A quarter-cup is the most I would utilize at once.

  16. I purchased one of these flavor grinders concerning 1 1/2 years back when a I was making a recipe for chili which stongly suggested making fresh chili powder instead of the store-bought kind. The distinction in the flavor boggled the mind! From that moment on, I have actually performed a crusade to freshly grind all my very own flavors. My cooking prowess has actually taken a real leap onward– especially with something like apple pie. I obtain rave reviews on just about everything I make with the freshly-ground spices. The flavors simply leap out at you! I find the device is easy to use, does a wonderful task and is really easy to cleanse. The dish detaches and could be placed in the meal washer. I do not place the cover in the dish washing machine, since I found that the little silicon closing band oftens pop out. Now to my admission: I’m just doing points waaaaaaay also fast, so recently I grabbed the mill to quick, neglecting to disconnect it, and Voila! it went flying, and the bowl broke. This was completely my fault. So I got a new one (it couldn’t show up quickly enough!). Now I have an extra motor/base and cover. One other thing: I have been getting my entire flavors and natural herbs online from Spice Shed. The high quality is impressive and prices are surprisingly low. The entire spices last a long time if kept in the sealed bag and out of the light. It turns out to be a lot cheaper compared to purchasing those little glass jars, which incidentally, stagnate nearly immediately. Go on, inspect your spices. Is your cinnamon 5 years of ages? Happy grinding!

  17. The Cuisinart Flavor and Nut Mill is everything I constantly wanted in a grinder. I grind up herbs, seeds, flax, chia, and various other things for my AM juice healthy smoothie. I adore it- it does everything I want it to. I can also grind up Saw Palmetto berries- well, except for the genuine challenging centers often do not powder up. It’s fast, it’s sturdy, it does a great task. I couldn’t be healthier with it, besides … Concerning three or 4 weeks after I purchased it, it quit working. I place in some topic and lowered on the container … nothing. I would certainly listened to the blade making an unusual sound last time I would certainly utilized it; I don’t know if that was a sign of problem, or otherwise. It simply didn’t launch any longer. I don’t know if it’s the change, or some other problem. Back to the old inefficient coffee grinder. A minimum of that has lasted for several years and years. I contacted Amazon for a return authorization, and everything exercised without any trouble. However I thought I would certainly give greater than a few weeks of use out of my Cuisinart Spice and Nut Grinder. The new one functions wonderful, and I’m delighted once more. I’ll keep you uploaded on the brand-new one. Cusinart, please- you have to know about this problem. Kindly do something concerning this. It cost you a superstar on my score. UPDATE- The new, substitute one I got give up working after a couple of months. I’m altering my recommendation to DO NOT BUY. It has possible, but Cuisinart is marketing a product with known faillure issues, and they do not provide enough of a and % # @! to remedy it. They just continue hoodwinking consumers with an item that fails way prior to it’s life span need to more than. NEW RECOMMDATION: I didn’t wish to buy an additional Cuisinart failure machine, so I did some additional analysis, and gave a Chef Pro Wet and Dry Food Grinder Chef Pro Wet and Dry Food Mill and kid, does it function terrific. I do a Budwig Diet regimen dish every morning, and this is the only tool I’ve discovered that makes it with a minumum of clutter and problem. It’s solid, it functions excellent, and it falls to whatever I organize into it. I purchased it in mid-January 2012; it’s now the end of September, and I have just compliments for this equipment. I am happy each day that I have actually purchased the Cook Pro. Buy this instead of the Cuisinart SG-10 failure unit.

  18. I bought this based upon the evaluations and I believe it works wonderful for natural herbs. I ground up all sort of herbs and it makes them in to powder quickly. I assume it does what it states. I have additionally tried to grind some nuts and you need to play with all of it little to get what type of uniformity you desire

  19. Works great. Easy to clean and much better than a coffee grinder for nuts and flavors.

  20. I utilize this grinder to grind peppercorns as fine as shop got black pepper. I make a no-salt Creole Seasoning and I have burnt up 2 battery powered pepper shaker. This works fantastic.

  21. I really love this device. It’s helpful, beneficial, quiet and grind effectively. And it’s soooo simple to tidy! I grind some actually hard beans like mung grains and in secs they are powder, it actually astonishes me. Additionally, it’s so fashionable that I just placed it on my counter. I truly enjoy it!

  22. I adore this little cutie !!! I got this to grind celebrity anise but I have yet to even use it for that, it has many usages !!!!!! I have made my own tahini by grinding sesame seeds in it; it grinds up nuts, cookies for garnishes, anything that you wish to do in small amounts and do not wish to drag out your mixer or do by hand with a mortar and pestle !!! Wonderful item !!!!!!!

  23. It is rapid and easy to use. I bought this item since I have used various other Cuisinart products and been satisfied with them. I like that the dish could be removed and cleaned conveniently. I such as that the bowl is stainless steel which could possibly last a long time. The cost was within the rate assortment that I was seeking.

  24. It’s nice just how you can simply organize the grinding jar in the dishwashwer. That way your coffee does not try like pepper.

  25. I have actually saved a lot of money making my own almond flour instead of buying it pre-ground. The primary is doing a handful of nuts at a time, after that grinding for about 3-4 seconds to check progress. If you go also long, it obtains oily/sticky like a nut butter.
